In a landmark move, ISRO has partnered with a Bengaluru-based startup to launch India’s first privately developed deep space telescope—AstraVision—scheduled for deployment in 2027. Unlike Earth-observing satellites, AstraVision will focus on tracking exoplanets, cosmic dust, and black hole radiation. The telescope will operate from a Lagrange point and is designed to send data directly to an AI-powered processing hub in India. Scientists hope it will deepen India’s participation in international space science missions. The project has also received support from NASA and ESA.
