Indian-origin climate activist named UN Youth Ambassador

19-year-old Raveena Gupta, born in Mumbai and raised in the UK, has been appointed as the UN Youth Ambassador for Climate Adaptation. Raveena is known for her work with coastal communities in Sri Lanka and Indonesia, where she developed early-warning systems for climate-induced flooding. As ambassador, she will represent youth voices in COP meetings and work with governments to shape climate resilience policies. The announcement was made during the UN Climate Week in Geneva. PM Modi and other leaders have congratulated her, calling it a proud moment for India’s global youth representation.
